A Little Focus Back
Feb. 19th, 2004 09:57 pmA day after I sent The Guy Who Owes Me Money an email and didn't hear anything, I sent my original note to his second in command and asked him what was going on. Second said that The Guy was on vacation for a week and not checking email. Now, if you are the head of a company with Online in the company name and your email address is the one that says 'for more info send email to' on the website.... wouldn't you make arrangements to have someone at least monitor it if you were gone for a feakin' week???!!!!! I have stock in this so-far privately held company but I think I'm going to continue to assume it shall remain worthless. Gessh.
Anyway, Second asked if they could get the check to me early next week and I said 'sure' and he sent a note back thanking me for my flexibility. As soon as I see that check, they are getting an invoice for March. ARUGH.
But, on the good side of today... I remembered my friend, Bryan. The last time I swapped emails with him, he had just taken a new job and was up to his adorable (and very young) ears and we said we'd get together for lunch when the smoke cleared. So I sent him a note this morning and told him the smoke was gone and he must make time for me. He shot a note back - 11:30 Wed. I'm jazzed. Bryan's the kind of person who will either be very rich or very famous one day and I want to make sure he doesn't forget me. When I first met him he was getting spare cash as a receptionist temp while finishing up his bachelor's degree. Then he got his MBA and then he got a job and then he quit it for another one and that's where we were when it got smoky. Update next weekend.
And Lee sent me an email asking if I wanted to walk the St. Patrick's Day Dash. The Dash is a 3.5 mile run with levels and the lowest level is walking. It starts at the Seattle Center and ends up right here. Plus you get to go on the water front viaduct which is a bypass highway with great views. As Lee pointed out, the whole thing sounds like a 3.5 mile photo op. I said SURE! It's Sunday, March 14.
So my day turned out fine and tomorrow will be good, too. I'm thinking of a down town walk...
