It is raining and has been raining all day - the air is so moist. It's warmer than I'd be most happy with but the rain is good. I feel a little guilty enjoying it when I know on tonight's news there are going to be report after report of flooding. But, it was soo dry for sooo long that just breathing the moist air is heavenly.

This is not a good work day. All day long people have stopped by my cube with one request after another. Each of these requests is a direct line to something that someone else forgot to do, ignored the request to do, didn't think was important enough to do or just plain didn't do. So I either have to do an unnatural act to make up for their lack of doing or I tell them no. Either way makes for not a good day.

It feels like I am invisible until the shit hits the fan and then I'm incompetent because I frankly cannot pull a miracle out of my ass no matter how ample it is....

But, I do like the rain.

I ordered a widget for my Tyreo600. It's a little headphone plug converter that gives me the ability to use my regular over the ears headphones and still have a microphone. But the guy who owns the company wouldn't sell it to me. He said that he was pretty sure it would work on my Sprint Tyreo600 but he hadn't tested it yet and please would I wait a couple of days? I said I would if he promised me the first one. He said he would. I rarely have that much trouble trying to spend money.

My TiVo is preventing me from getting HGT. It's a Tito/Com cast problem - right now each is blaming the other - it's been going on for a month. Meanwhile no telling how much curb appeal I've missed or annoying tips from Car Loans. On the up side, I'm still behind in my TV watching so it has not been a huge handicap so far.

And, speaking of TV. I did finally give up on The Practice, It's All Relative, Karen Sisco, and probably Coupling (Americcan version but I think it's getting canceled anyway). I've got two episodes of Lyon's Den to watch so that jury is still out. My 'hits' of this year's new crop are 10-8, Joan of Arcadia, and Nip/Tuck (which is really really really compelling TV - I mean really).

Since I don't have to watch the World Series, I'm counting on getting mostly caught up this week.

I'm just not a holiday person. Christmas doesn't do much for me. Thanksgiving is ok because I usually get a good meal. It's always too hot on the 4th of July to enjoy it and I've never every liked Halloween. I used to tolerate the latter because I love corn candy, but now you can get the good kind (Brach's) all year around.

Well it looks like our TV program tastes are very similar. I agree with everything you said here.
Coupling was a huge bomb. I have been watching the Nip/Tuck marathon that kjaz mentioned to get caught up. I did not see all, but quite a bit. Joan of Arcadia is pretty entertaining, too.

Candy Corn=Good

Must be some kind of generation thing.

candy corn is just plain weird.

Nip/tuck is fun and yes, compelling at times. Better than I had expected.

The British version of Coupling is pretty damned funny.

I'm getting into Lyon's Den gradually, haven't seen those others (except The Practice, which I like but haven't seen for a while).

I have a tendency to get caught up in the various forensics shows. I harbor secret wishes to do that sort of thing.

How did you go with the Pineapple Express?

I simply wish Christmas would go away. It's like a bad joke that's not funny, any more! And we have to do the whole silly rigmarole in sweltering midsummer. Bah humbug!

For newer TV we are delighted and hooked on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy.

As for holidays, I love em. But it occurs to me for the decorating than the actual holiday. As for candy corn I hate it. But I love to decorate with it. Put them in glass jars. To me they are cheerful and represent fall-time.
