No deep thoughts

My brother is taking care of Mother's Day and I'm not all that sentimental about it anyway. Mom's a good egg and fun. But, honestly, if she had been born 20 years later, she would have been nobody's mom. I had a choice. She didn't - not really.

So today was just another Sunday-after-a-Mariners-loss-on-Saturday... sigh. Interesting walk thing this morning. When the Mariners have day games, some of the players like to get to the ballpark early - really early. There are always one or two or more people outside the entrance the visiting players use looking for autographs. They are an interesting bunch. Generally they are very organized with players cards and elaborate albums or, at least a nice clipboard and a Sharpie. And I've seen them in action. They are practiced. They are calm and polite and I've never seen a ballplayer turn them down.

Since this weekends games have been sold out forever and it is the stupid Yankees, I figured the autograph crowd would be big this morning. Wrongo. Not a single one. None. Nada. I did see a couple of ballplayers go in but I was too far away. They were shaped like ballplayers and dressed in ballplayer civvies and moved like ballplayers so I went for the walk like a duck, quack like a duck conclusion but I was too far away to see faces.

On my way home from my walk I stopped at Krispy Kreme to offer my condolences and do what I could. I had 4 glazed and cold milk. Two glazed for me and two glazed in support of the corporation. Honestly, I think 'me' and the corporation could have gotten by with 1 each.

I am showered and hair is washed. The sheets on the bed are clean and fresh. The dirty clothes have gathered in the washing machine to see if they can redeem themselves. All is good.
