I hate software

And that's just the kind of day I'm havin' ... I keep trying to shove this stuff into this new software, hitting a snag, sending an email off to support, getting no reply. So I go on to the next section, try to shove this stuff into this new software, hitting a snag, sending and email off to support, getting no reply. Etc. Etc. Fun city!

But, it's Friday. And I'm still riding last night's Mariner win. And it's my early day. And etc. etc.

There's a tiny town in the foothills of the North Carolina mountains called Valdese, NC. My parents lived there for about 10 years and loved the place and the people. It's a close knit community of Waldensians (which are Presbyterians from Northern Italy). Anyway... last night Mom was looking for something to turn onto the TV to go to sleep by and she wandered into Millionaire. The guy in the hot seat was a teacher from Valdese! (A kid, Mom says - which means he was probably 30.) He won $500,000 and quit when he wasn't entirely sure of the next answer. You just gotta know that town's all atwitter this week. I'm delighted for them all.

It's a coolish kind of misty day out. My perfect kind of day. I'm giving serious thought to a walk through town on the way home this afternoon. Our new library opens this Sunday and it's quite the sight to see. If I get off the bus at the other end of town, the library is one of the places I will pass on the way home. I haven't been by there since they took down the construction fencing. Once it's really open, it will be a great place to get off the bus, wander around and then wander on home from there.

Time to get back to work - see paragraph 1. Sigh.
