My valuable opinion
May. 24th, 2004 09:59 amSomehow somewhere I was asked to participate in a TVGuide online Q&A. I haven't a clue how I came to asked or even remember it. But, last week I got an email saying 'go here and participate.' So I did. It was TVGuide noodling out some options for personal email reminders of upcoming shows you want to see. It's not something I'd be real interested in but it was kind of fun to give my opinion and it wasn't just a survey. There was a real person doing the thing and she was interested and interesting. And, I got a $20 Amazon gift certificate for my efforts!
I like that Amazon lets you put your gift certificate into your account and just leave it there until you need it. I rarely buy from Amazon (except used books) but having a $20 leg up will sure remind me to look. (I don't object to them but they rarely seem to have good prices on the stuff I want plus they charge me that horrendous Washington State Sales Tax - which I should not object to since it means we don't have Washington State Income Tax, but, really.... when I find a site that offers me free shipping with no sales tax and a lower price, Amazon just gets squeezed out of the equation.
