Ahhh the weekend
Jul. 10th, 2004 10:16 amGoing in to work 5 days a week is what make a Saturday morning with nothing that has to be done... a true luxury. I read yesterday in an LJ community that there is no snooze button on kitties who want breakfast. So true. I got up to feed Jake and Betty and then went back to sleep and then got coffee and the paper and took them back to bed. Nice.

Now I'm piddling around on the computer. It was supposed to be cloudy, rainy and cool this morning. So far, it appears as if the weather people have fucked up again. Surprise. Hot with sun baking. But there are clouds out there and it could get better.

There's some kind of summer market thing going on at a small park a couple of blocks over. I may well have to go check that out later.

I've finished knitting four pair of socks in the past few weeks. Five if you count the pair I made for Mom which turned out to be too small. She's sending them back so I can re-do them. Once I get her size right, she wants a couple more pair. I'm also working on a couple of hot pads for the kitchen. But, they are out of this all cotton yarn which has no give to it at all. Knitting with this stuff is really hard on my hands. So I will likely go back to socks today. The main point of these projects is to keep me occupied until it gets cool enough to go back to afghans.

I finished my latest book last night and need to add it to http://www.susandennis.net/books.asp. My stack of ToBeReadNext is quite healthy. Having the library open again is such a wonderful thing.

The Mariners are in Chicago this weekend. They have now lost 8 in a row and show no signs of breaking the streak. I normally resent the hell out of the All Star Break. This year, however, it means three whole days with no Mariner losses.

Ken Jennings continues to win on Jeopardy. Watching him win never gets old. He is just so adorable and so watchable. I know his winning streak ends and I'm so dreading that day. But, for now, I'm having fun watching him.

And my latest Semagic problem is that I cannot get spellcheck to work correctly. GRRRRRR Any spelling errors in this journal are not my fault.
