Retail Day
Jul. 24th, 2004 07:51 amI turned the air conditioner off before I went to bed - it doesn't really reach to the bedroom anyway and I wanted it to rest. I stretched out under the ceiling fan and read for a bit. It helps if you have a mister to mist yourself now and again - kind of turbo charges the effects of the ceiling fan.
My window wall - two plate glass windows and a slider to the terrace - faces east. So mornings that aren't cloudy are brutal. This morning I closed the blinds tight, kissed the air conditioner and turned it on. Cool. Ahhhh. Maybe it was just having a 'spell' yesterday. And maybe it has some more years left. But, I am going to Home Depot as soon as it opens this morning just to see if they have any portables left and if they do, if they are on sale. And I am going to swing by Goodwill and unload my trunk.
I am having lunch today with my friend, Susan, who is the office manager where I used to work. Always fun to catch up on the poop. Find out what's going on with the Twinkies. I don't know where we are going to eat but I do know it will be somewhere with air conditioning.
She lives perilously close to both a Target and a Radio Shack. So I think I might have to go poke around both of those places before I pick her up. Hard to believe that Radio Shack has anything in it's inventory that I don't have two of, but we shall see.
Finally, I'd just like to say that I love my hair. It is long enough now to twist up loosely and quickly with one small claw clip. It looks great that way and feels good. Easy, nice looking hair. Every girl's dream and now I've got it. Of course, based on the timetable set by my mother and grandmother, I'll only have it for about another 5 years or so. I'm going to enjoy it now!
