The Mom Drama
Aug. 4th, 2004 09:25 pmSo... the latest is that the place where she lives which is retirement - independent living (the part she lives in), assisted living, vegetable care and out the door in a box is getting involved in her stuff and I think that's fine but it is causing some confusion. Plus, she is confused herself which is adding fun to the mix.
They talk to Mom. She makes her own translation and talks to my brother who hears half and she talks to me who figures she has it wrong and she talks to my sister who has no ability to listen unless it directly affects making her life better. And, it turns out, she's putting a different spin on it each time. It's like a giant game of whisper.
But now Polly is in the mix and I think she's got it all under control. My brother was really pissed but he'll get over it.
Have I mentioned how glad I am to be 3,000 miles and 3 time zones away, thankyoujesus?????
I do think it sounds like there's a good chance that Mom might be encouraged/forced to move into assisted living which would be fine except right now they have no double rooms so she'll be stuck in one room for visiting, sleeping, computing, watching TV, etc. This will make her so not happy. Oh well. We'll cross that bridge etc....
In other news, it is mercifully cool still and I love it. It might warm up for a day or two but I think we're about done with the worst of summer, she says oh so hopefully...
