The general and moi
Aug. 13th, 2004 03:39 pmI am home for the weekend... whew. I remembered to call the deli this afternoon and see if they could squirrel me away some General Tso's. When I got there, they had a nice, fresh batch. The woman said she had made a special batch at 1:30 for me. There was plenty so I got two. One for tonight and one for tomorrow. I will be sick of it. Probably not. She also threw in a huge helping of fried rice. There shall be no cooking here this weekend... only reheating. ahhhhhh
It was hot on the way home. The bus was air conditioned but not very and the sun was baking away any cool. The traffic was a bitch for some reason at what was, for most folks, mid-afternoon. The bus driver just spaced right out and missed the turn off the freeway. It was kind of funny. The cool thing was that no one got the least bit upset at all even though she bypassed a whole lotta stops. Sometimes I just love Seattle. Actually most of the time I do.
I have my usual action packed weekend planned. Reading, watching TV, Netflixing, knitting.. I mean it's a good thing I'm in training for this.
I think I'm going to order up a special cable for my remote control. After the last buy and return of the expensive one, I got a Radio Shack number that takes a JP1 cable. The remote does pretty nearly ok but it could be flat out perfect if I could get the exact codes programmed in. It's nearly terminally geeky but I think I'm about ready to take it on... It will be a nice little Labor Day weekend project or for when I am no longer working... whichever comes first.
For now... I officially declare the weekend started!
