Love it when I meet myself coming

I'm listening to NPR and hearing an interesting interview with a guy named Hank Stuever. He has a book of essays called "Off Ramp: adventures and heartache in America elswhere." So I pop over to the library to put it on hold. The website says there are 56 people ahead of me. I click on hold and get a message that says "request failed. contact the circulation desk."

I know from experience that this means "you already have this one on hold, dodo." So I checked my hold list and... yep... it's on the list and, turns out, I'm #2 of those 56 and my copy is 'in transit'...
