susandennisToday's chapter is more an appendix on yesterday's. Mom asked Polly to call all three of us and see what we wanted of her stuff. My brother said there were a couple of paintings her wanted. (the car thing was added later). I wanted nothing. My sister, it turns out, wants everything.
According to my brother who got this from his wife who got this from Polly - you following here?... My sister's list is huge and she wants it all. Polly apparently told her she can't have it all and what she can have she will get only if she pays for transporation. Go Polly!! (And Go Mom for giving Polly good instructions.)
Dana - sister-in-law - got there last night and reports that Polly has everything so organized and under control. One set of movers comes Tuesday to move stuff to the storage unit. Another set of movers comes Wednesday, I think, to haul off everything else. The second set is an estate guy - he'll auction off the good pieces and sell the rest for a percentage of the sale. Polly has used him a couple of times before.
I think Dana and Mom are in Mom's apartment right now going through the closet.
So, vultures aside, things are moving along... Hopefully. Polly is going out of town on Thursday so I think the plan is to have it all done - the apartment completely cleared out - by then. If not, then early that next week.
I'm ready for a weekend. I have to stop at the library on the way home this afternoon. Safeway is coming tonight with groceries (they sent me a free delivery coupon to lure me to try again and it worked - we shall see...).
While I'm waiting for Safeway, I think I'm going to set up my new wireless router. I want to give it a shot before 7 p.m. My ISP customer service leaves for the weekend at 7 and I might need them. I've never had a wireless network before because I've never had - for very long - anything more than one computer to use it. I did have an IPAQ for a while but that's when I had neighbors who had unsecured wireless so I just used them.
But, now, I'm going to have my own. My new Fujitsu P1000 will be able to use it. And, hopefully, one of my Tivo's. The older Tivo won't but the newer one should be able to.
We shall see.
But, first, I guess I'd better get to work!
