Today's Mom adventure is all about air. And getting Della Jo busted with Dan. Tsk Tsk.

Della Jo lives down the hall from Mom. She's been on steady oxygen now for at least 5 years and she's got a fair number of her original marbles so she's totally with the program.

Mom is a newby to oxygen. And pretty resentful of the whole thing and embarrassed that she has to have the nose thing in all the time plus she stays pretty confused and is missing some marbles so she's clearly NOT with the program.

From what I can gather, there is a big-ish tank and then a smaller portable tank. The smaller tank is filled from the bigger one and there's a special gizmo to do that with. A guy - Dan The Oxygen Guy - comes once a week to fill the big one.

Somehow, apparantly, Mom screwed up her gizmo and smaller tank. Della Jo somewhere along the way acquired a spare and squirreled it away for emergencies. She loaned it to Mom but told Mom NOT to let Dan see it or they would all be in trouble.

So when I called today Mom was very jumpy. She didn't know when Dan was coming and so didn't know if she was going to get caught with the illegal gizmo or not. I suggested that she stash it and hook herself up to the big tank for a while and relax. She thought that was a great idea and, pointed out, it would keep Della Jo in the clear.

She exclaimed gratefully, "What would I do without you?"
