Home in 24 hours
Nov. 26th, 2004 09:20 pmWe finished up the last of the 'while you are here' list today. Mom had gotten Jon her bartender friend to score her a bag full of empty mini bottles. I made a liquor store run and picked up a funnel at the dollar store and she now has little cocktails to go.
I think about half of Mom is really sorry to see me go and the other half is ready to get rid of me.
I wonder if she'll be around next Thanksgiving. I think it could go either way. And I don't think I can go a year without getting back here. My job is over at the end of June, I guess I'll plan on coming for a visit in July. July in South Carolina - I sweat at the thought.
Tomorrow I have a couple of small chores to do and then put her car back into the garage where her covered parking assigned space it - it is fairly near where her apartment was - not at all near where her current room is. Then Polly is going to pick me up at Mom's room at 11:30ish. Plane leaves at 1 but the Charleston airport is very small and easy to maneuver and my plane to Dallas is very small so no huge crowds getting on. Should be fine.
