Walking and spending

susandennisMy weekend walks are for walking not for going any place. I usually just set out, walk 30 minutes, turn around and come home.
But, last night on TV I saw that Sears was open at 7 a.m. this morning and had everything at 10% off until 10. Hey, there's a Sears just down the road here! It's a bit farther than 30 minutes out but not that much. You go to Krispy Kreme and then got about 4 more blocks. So I did.
I wandered around Sears. I was kind of surprised at how many people were shopping at 7:30 on Saturday morning. But it wasn't packed by any means. I bought socks - my feet are so rough that I go through walking socks like crazy and realized this morning that I'd tossed out my last pair... I bought shirts. I bought a backpack. (It was different looking and light weight but $24. I don't need another backpack. Then I saw the sale tag... $9! And that's before the 10% off. I so need a new backpack!!!) I bought a wallet. I had a great time. I put all my purchases into my backpack, trotted up to Krispy Kreme. Bought a half dozen glazed and here I am.
Coffee and donuts and the glow of retail therapy.
Oh and the shirts are all those new tagless kind so I don't even have to remove them! Bonus!!
Plus the sun - which would have made me squint and bugged me - chose to wait until I was nearly home before it came out. A good start to what is going to be a good day.
I have puzzles to do. When I got back from Thanksgiving, I put a little note up on my puzzle page announcing a notification email list they could sign up for. I am amazed at the number of requests to join that email list. The pressure is on to produce!
I took this shot just outside the back door to my condo building - facing north. I really like the mix of the old and the new. Seattle is a cool town....
