Whew - bacon saved

susandennisSo, while I was at Mom's she asked me to get her some return address labels. No hurry. She just wanted to get them in time for Christmas cards. And I totally, absolutely, 100 % forgot.
This morning she sends me email asking when they might get there since she's ready to do Christmas cards now. 'no hurry,' she says... Just curious.
YIKES!
Originally, my plan was to order her up some with her new address and just have them shipped to her. A quick perusal of a few websites let me know that was not going to happen - 3 to 5 weeks??!! Even the express, fast, we-do-it-now, places were 5 business days.
We have a new Kinko's just up the street. When did Kinko's stop being open 24/7? Musta been when FedEx took over.
Deep breath... Ok, I created the labels. A page with holly and a page without in Word. Then I PDF'd, 'em and headed out. We have an Office Max and an Office Depot very near here. I picked Depot because it was a hair closer and better parking. I walked in with my diskette (when in the world was the last time I even used a diskette?????) And went to the counter that said, Copies, Printing AND Shipping!!!
A wonderful woman took me over to the label aisle where we quickly picked out the clear ones Mom wanted. We printed up 120 of the ones with holly and 180 of the ones without in about 5 minutes. The I filled out the forms to UPS them to Mom. Less than $30 and she will have them on Wednesday. My ass is saved. Whew.
