Big plans for the holidays??

susandennisAnd it's starting... Everyone asks "Big plans for the holidays?"
It's a lot like "How are you?" You know, the version where no one gives a shit what the answer is? The difference is that you can't really say "fine" and be off the hook. You can't even say "yes" and be off the hook unless the elevator door is closing.
The reality is that I will spend Christmas this year the way I have the past few years, the way I chose to, the way I want to. By myself. At home. Me, the kitties, the TV, the computer and a good book. And I will be grateful that I do not have to spend it with family - mine or someone else's.
But, I have yet to boil that down into an answer that is both suitable and acceptable. Suitable meaning 7 words or less. Acceptable meaning will not invoke pity.
Every year I have the same problem and I have yet to find a fix.
