If you could hear what I hear....

What I'm hearing is Sprint's hold music - it's peppy and very annoying. But at least I can hear it. I'm on hold because I cannot hear my cellphone. Yup. Treo's gone deaf. And Mute. Not pretty. But, I suspect, not fatal.

Off hold and the technician said that it sounds like I'm dead in the water. He said to take it to a Sprint Store and they will try a software thing and if that doesn't work, they will replace it. I'm sure it's not that simple but I do have replacement insurance -thankyoujesus. There's a Sprint Store on the way home and I was thinking about taking a leisurely stroll on the way home anyway. So I can do Sprint Store and then library and then home.

So, if the Sprint store people aren't nice, I can just call the 800 number of the insurance and they will ship me a replacement. I do have all of my info - nums, settings, memos, games, etc. on an SD card complete with a handy backup system. Backed up every morning at 1 a.m. So I pop the card in and click on Backup and click on Restore and I'm back in biz. It has saved my butt before and looks like it will again...

The timing is just amazing. There is probably not a more convenient time for me to have this happen. I hate using up my karma on something this silly but what the heck. I might look into an upgrade to a Treo 650 but likely won't pop for it unless it's dirt cheap.
