The next nitty gritty detail
Jan. 13th, 2005 01:42 pmYesterday's designer finally called. Her phone pitch was worse than her voicemail message. There is no need to tell me your hourly rate before we even get 4 words into the conversation and your rate sounds like you might be dealing in particle board furniture and I promised
kjaz no particle board.
Today I went back to the ASID website and fired up a list of websites by Washington State and clicked through every single freakin' one of them. It was not a surprise to find about 15% of them being actually bad or abandoned URLs. Designers not in Seattle got eliminated. Websites with required Flash got eliminated. Websites with sound got eliminated.
Then I looked at style and presentation and got a good list of 4. I sent email to the top one on the list. She gets 24 hours to respond.
Oh and my neighbor, Scott, the realtor, sent a note this morning saying he had no idea of a good designer or how to find one but that he would quiz everyone in his office and report back.
So, I'm feeling encouraged. A little.
