Strange day

It has been a very rough morning.

Before 7 there were 3 work things that hit the shits. Either I couldn't figure them out or their dependent systems were having a bad hair day.

Then I got an email from Mom's trust person that pissed me off. I can receive faxes from every other fax machine in the freakin' world except theirs. I used be able to receive theirs but a couple of months ago she got a new assistant and now I can no longer get their faxes. It's annoying but even more annoying is getting her "I don't know nuthin' bout birthin' no babies technology" emails. You know what, the content of your message kind of speaks for itself... And it did the first 5 times you sent it over the last 3 months, too!

And then I got a note from Mom that annoyed me.

Then my VPN/Dyndns.org scheme failed for the first time. I need to look into that. Fortunately, my backup http://fmip.org can always give me the raw IP address. [BellSouth is running one strange DSL service. She will have the same IP address for 3 weeks and then it will change 5 times in the span of 30 minutes ... while the computer is connected - no reboots, it just changes...]

Then Mom's broker called me and wanted to know why Mom hadn't called him. ???!!!! Why don't you hang up, call HER and ask her??? "Oh I didn't want to bother her."

Then two more work things fucked up.

Then it was lunch time.

But the most interesting thing to me - and we're still working on making it all about me - is that I didn't lose it. I didn't get all bent out of shape about any of it. Normally one or two of these things would have set me off and today even the combo didn't pull the trigger.

I don't remember taking any mood altering substances... Hope it lasts. Sure is nice for me and I'm sure that the people around me, who normally I would have taken a huge chomp out of, are grateful.
