Today this bundle of snot is now a lean fat mean pathetic coughing machine. I wish I had remembered to check the 'stealth' box when I signed up for this cold. I'm not happy about feeling like crap but I'm even less happy that I also have to look and sound like I am a walking germ repository. Eck.

[livejournal.com profile] pookfreak found this book-by-email and told me about it. Initially, I was not drawn to the plot but the more I think about the concept, the more intrigued I am by it. I may well just sign up for it. I really like the idea.

About four weeks ago I did a bit a sidewalk surfing and scraped the skin off the back of my right hand. Remind me not to do that again. It no longer hurts but it is still not all the way healed. It's annoying to look at. I am just not so happy with the physical me this week.

I just read that The Shield starts its new season on March 15. Glenn Close has joined the cast. This should be good.

I've discovered www.publicradiofan.com. This is a very interesting website that spits out all of the programming information you could ever want for all public radio stations in the US. I found it while looking for NPR stations with MP3 feeds for Treo. You can sort by program, by program type, by feed type, by time... It's really quite cool and very very fast. There are a lot of words on this site and a whole lot of options and yet it is quite functional on my little tiny Treo screen.

It's a great resource but also a fascinating study on how to spit out database reports in a functional manner.

So every morning now and every afternoon I'm listening to national programs - Morning Edition and All Things Considered - from stations around the country. While the base programing is exactly what I'm used to, the cut-ins and local weather and local news clips are really wild. Yesterday afternoon it was Augusta, GA and then Fairfield, CT. This morning it was Detroit and then Salt Lake City.

I still haven't figured out how I am going to get baseball games (broadcast on AM radio) on Treo. They will be, apparently, available via podcast so all I need to do is figure out how to make Treo into an Ipod. Maybe I can just knit it a white sweater...

Ok enough of this silliness. I guess I'd better get to work.
