Feeling a little redundant...

I called Mom this morning while walking from the bus to work. I wanted to make sure she knew to have the guy from Geeks On Call call me if he needed passwords or access to any accounts (she is not good with passwords... she believes in her soul that there is only one in the world and she will plug that one into any place she can every single time...).

He was supposed to be there at 9:30 and this was just before 9:30 her time. She said he had already called because he couldn't find her. (Her building is impossible to find - impossible.) She said she was sure he'd be there in a minute and she would call me.

It took maybe 15 minutes at the outside before I was at my desk and got the automated email (from her computer) that comes when Mom connects and gets an IP!! I mean he did not have time to say 'hi, I'm Ron, let's see what the problem is!'

I got an email from her and all it says is 'all is well. Talk later. Gotta go with Polly.'

Talk about anticlimactic!! It's clear he was successful (and I am soooo very grateful) but I want the dets! Holey moley. I sure hope he was nice and efficient and we can use Geeks On Call again if we need to. It was certainly painless. $99 if he fixed it in under 15 mins which it sounds like he did. Beats the hell out of a plane ticket to Charleston.

Wonder where the hell she is going with Polly?

She did, however, sound so good on the phone. For the past month, when we actually have talked, her voice sounded so tiny and lifeless. Today she sounded strong and good and kick ass. She's also getting very good at recognizing and getting comfortable with what she cannot do. (Crawl under the computer table to check connections, understand that she's maybe not the best person to handle her finances, etc.)

At this rate, I honestly believe she's going to be keeping us all greatly amused for years to come.
