bits and bites
Nov. 20th, 2003 02:20 pmThe guy who bought my monitor a week or so ago called today to say the middle of the screen was blurry. Whatever. I did not want to deal with him again (he had this kind of cultish air and spiel that was kind of creepy) so I told him I would send him his $50 back. He asked if I wanted the monitor back and I said no and then he asked if I knew how to dispose of it. I said no. I'd really not like to hear from him again... I just put the check in the mail.

On the other hand, stuck in my door when I got back today was a note from the woman who owns the unit just above mine... The one I have taken to thinking of as the leaker. She is someone I avoid at all costs. She talks constantly and endlessly and says nothing. If you so much as say 'hi' to her, you can kiss the next two hours good bye.
But, this note was really nice. And it was really nice of her to even leave it instead of calling and chewing my ear off for a couple of hours. The note said that she was so sorry to hear about the leak and would work to find out why and offered me plastic or whatever I needed until we cracked the problem. It was very nice. She said to send her email or call her. I sent her email.
The building manager said today he was going to try some dye when I got back from South Carolina. No leaking today.

Krispy Kreme is having a bad stock week and it's driving down my Ameritrade holdings. That original $2K is now nearly down to $3K again. buggers.

Mom sent an email this morning "my email is all screwed up and TiVo is broken, would you please hurry??!!" A query for details returned that her inbox was out of order and TiVo is just turned off. The email thing was funky. I reset the order so latest was on top but the strange thing is, two notes I sent this morning had come in before one I sent yesterday. I'm going to assume aberration there.
Vance, do not fret the TiVo - she admitted that she switched some plugs. She has a dead plug back there and I'm better major bucks that she plugged TiVo into that one. Easy fix and she can suffer until tomorrow.

The laundry is nearly all done and then will be put away. I cleaned up the bathroom and the kitchen. I went to get my nails done. I had to go with a very wimpy socially acceptable taupe rather than the screaming piano finish navy blue I wanted. I'm really enjoying my day off.
