Hot

The thermometer says 73 degrees but it feels way hotter than that. The sun is a killer. And Mom is complaining about the cold. Of course, with as much blood thinning medicine she takes it's no wonder.

Today I unplugged everything in her media center and labeled it all. Then I plugged everything back into power strips that I also labeled and put where Mom can get to them (she can't get to the wall plugs). It looks nice and is functional. Whew.

Then we tackled Bank of America. Her Visa card is a BofA card. And she wants to be able to see her charges online. She used to be able to but somehow screwed up the login password. They of course will not talk to me and pretending to be Mom is not fair and nerve wracking. So Mom wants to add me to her credit card. A month ago I called BofA to find out what that entailed. Figuring it was going to require a snail mail something, I wanted to get it all set up ahead of time. They said. oh no. All you have to do is have her call.

I called back the next day, got someone else and asked again, just to make sure. I got the same story.

So of course, you know what happened... we called today and yes, they have to send a letter that we both have to sign. Sigh.

So then I decided that since I had Mom right here I'd call about getting online. I did. Bombed out again. Her online ID is Daddy's social security number.

BofA: We can't reset the password for her since it isn't her social security number.
me: But, my father is dead. There is no way to reset it for him.
BofA: Has he been dead long?

??????!!!!!

me: Well, he died in 1999.
BofA: Then we can't reset the password. You'll have to call customer service.

Two more phone calls to BofA revealed that they had the wrong social security number for Mom. There's a chance we got that fixed and supposedly in 24 hours will be able to access the account online.

Ooops her nap is over... Later...

Hi Susan,
I'm enjoying your phone pics..thank you.

Tell us about Bojangles, please. Of course, I can see that it's a chain of some sort, but I've never heard of it. Fried, Southern food?
Hope you are having fun finding all of the things that you can't in Seattle.
In the meantime....It's in the low 50's here in L.A., but it feels like 30. Nasty, heavy winds.

Still think you should perch a lttle "MomCam" ;)

They must just sit around and think up ways to make it difficult to use online services. Sheesh. Good thing you are patient. I would have already cursed out at least 2 people and probably lost my banking priveledges :)

We have Bojangles here in Georgia too. I think they are also in Tenn.

Hope the banking stuff works out. Good luck with it!

I take 9mg of warfarin every day and still don't get cold. So I expect there's no real correlation between thin/cold blood. Lovely cool night last night, 48F as I headed home at midnight.
