I am beat. I've been at this computer heads down since 6:00 this morning. I'm done.

I came in this morning to a shit load of emails - it seems everyone wants a piece of me. On the top were a bunch of emails from my manager (who is out of town) basically person by person, email by email, explaining to each that I was not their bitch. And that their job would get done in due time and that time would be selected by us, not them. Thank you.

It was actually a cunning trick on his part that worked like a charm. I was flying with a wing man and it was like I wanted him to know I was worthy. I pounded out a record number of converted pages in spite of the fact that the fucking server took a lunch break. Yep, it was down for an hour and a half. But, it actually was at lunch time so I enjoyed my cheeseburger here at my desk with my LJ friends pages.

The IRS has not come for their pound of flesh but it's ready for them when they get here. And I set up an electronic reminder to make sure that the funds are there on April 15 for the estimated tax they are going to suck out automatically.

Sheri is coming by at 3 today with the latest in carpet options. I bought two new pieces of furniture. I'd better get my makeover page updated tonight or tomorrow. It's woefully behind.

I got an email from the place where I ordered the cute dresser. The email gave me the name of the shipper and a tracking number. But the original store (homedecoratorsoutlet.com) is still not showing my order status. So I wrote to customer service. I asked 1) why is the status not showing, 2) when could I expect to see the status on their website, 3) should I be watching on their regular website (which is what the email implied) or on their outlet website (which is where I ordered it from).

I got an email back (after the obligatory 'your email is important to us, we respond in 48 hours'), from Chrissie. Chrissie said that my dresser had been shipped but she didn't have the tracking number but the shipper would be getting in touch with me in 10-15 days to arrange a convenient delivery time.

Ok... so not only did she NOT answer my 3 questions, she raised some troubling ones of her own.... How come they sent me a tracking number and she doesn't have it? How is the shipping company going to get in touch with me? Convenient to whom - me, the trucker??? And, finally, since the shipper's website says it will be delivered on the 8th, which is 5 business days from now, won't their contacting me between the 15th and 22nd be a little silly?

Since I want homedecorators to be excellent to deal with and their goods to be high quality, I want to believe that Chrissie is an afternoon temp that they fired this afternoon when they discovered she couldn't read and write.

I'm off to get the bus.
