I called Mom's CPA today to find out where her return was - make sure someone would deliver it to her in plenty of time, be there to write out the check so she could sign it and then make sure it gets mailed off.

Then I sent Mom a note and told her it would be delivered. She'd have to sign a check (the bank woman will write it for her) and everything else would be handled. She need not worry.

And this is the mail I got back just now:

Thanks for handling all of that tax stuff. Next time the IRS tries to pick on you I will tell them I am your Mother and they should leave you alone. Nap time.
