Whipped into submission
Apr. 10th, 2005 09:35 amI woke up this morning with new resolve - that Tivo was going to join the network or be eating sidewalk gravel... I have spent way too much time begging.
Guess that's all it needed. Moved the router, rebooted the Tivo, put the adapter on a dongle. Bingo. Added the WEP back in, moved the router back to where it was, swapped out the dongle (which I use a lot on my desktop) for more of a USB extension cord and it's all working fine and dandy. I can see my program list on my computer, I can see my computer pictures on my TV. And when the new Tivo comes in, I'll be able to watch the programs from the bedroom in the living room, and vice versa.
Whew. I've been fucking with this on and off for a couple of months now. I hate it when hardware and software try to fight me. I love it when they fail.
In other news... the cats seem quite content with their new cat litter chest and I sure am. Win win there.
I'm thinking they are not going to be all that happy with having to be shut out on the terrace tomorrow. I have made a couple of soft cat bed kind of places for them out there with towels and pillows but I think they are still going to be a leetle pissed about it. I don't blame them a bit.
I hope that painter does one perfect job and does it with no more hassles. Otherwise it's going to be a long two and a half weeks.
Baseball game is at 1. I'll be on the couch if you need me.
