The light at the end of the tunnel?
Apr. 19th, 2005 08:19 amI have 58 flashlights. Well, maybe not 58 but a bunch anyway. In ordinary times, they are sprinkled around the house in various places. Last night I needed one and the only one I could find had a light so dim that I wondered why in the heck I hadn't tossed it out in one of the purges. I am very very very weary of not being able to find shit.
Right now it all hangs on Dinah the painter. I got home yesterday to find that the only painting she did was the back splashes in the kitchen. I was really bummed. She left a note that she had run out of something and about 3 other excuses. She really does not have that much to finish up. 1 wall in the kitchen. 2 walls in the bedroom. 1 wall in the hall. The bathroom. I was quite encouraged by her progress last week and guess I deluded myself into believing it would continue.
Sheri is going by there today to check on her. Maybe that will help.
But the rest of the news is all good. The carpet guy was there yesterday and there's a chance he can get the carpet laid in one day and there's another chance that that day will be this week or early next. Sheri says she's booking Dave - the hand man - for early next week. Dave will put in the new ceiling fan (with light AND remote control!!!) which is now in the trunk of Sheri's car. And he will put in the new closet system. And then I can finally start to put some of the shit away!
And put the new love seat together and put it in the living room and get the new chest out of the box and the new night stand.
And... Of course, photos of all.
