And on a happier note...
Nov. 24th, 2003 09:06 pmI am loving my Treo600. It's been a real joy on this trip. In the past, I created an email account for me with Mom's Outlook Express but I wasn't wild about that set up. Now I use Treo600 to read all the messages - it polls and gives me the happiest little 'new mail' trill. If my response is short, I use Treo to reply but if I need to go on and on, I use a web popper (mail2web).
The games have kept me sane. Every time I have to wait for her or for someone or in line, I just pop up solitaire or Bejewled or Tetris.
The tunes have kept me walking.
And the camera has kept everyone amused. Mom's friend, Carl, from the bar does not have a computer but after I took his picture on Friday night and told him it was on a website, quickly grasped that he could impress his daughter if I gave him 'some magic internet thing that she'll know what to do with?'
There is a couple who live here but who seem much younger than everyone else (maybe because her Mom - at 97 - also lives here...) She is always taking everyone else's pictures. She publishes them in a newsletter and makes photo albums for everyone. Mom wants me to take her picture since she's always taking everyone else's.
I said sure but told her I wanted to use the good camera instead of the phone one.
"Oh no, please use the phone one - it's so much cooler."
oooookay.
Anyway this one little gadget has really been a wonderful travel companion. Happy happy.
