And the thrills continue
Apr. 26th, 2005 12:14 pmI left at 11 and was done signing my life away at the credit union at 11:17. There's a Taco Time right next door and I love their soft tacos so that's was I got and I even could taste it without too much of the bad overtaste that everything has these days.
Back at my desk by 11:30. Not too bad.
Microsoft is located in Redmond which kisses another suburb which is pretty much a city itself called Bellevue. For my money, you could pick up Bellevue and plop it down out side of any city in the country and it would work/look/feel just like it does. The shops, the people, the traffic, all of it looks just like Suburb Atlanta, Suburb Cincinnati, Suburb Minneapolis, etc.
There are a few quirks that may differentiate it. Do other places have as many sandwich board guys? I passed three at lunch and these are not comatose dudes standing there like posts. Oh no. The first guy was advertising apartments for rent. He was bouncing all over and waving and holding up a giant arrow pointing to the rental office. The next guy was touting King Mattress and he was complete with a crown and scepter and more wild gesturing. By the time I got to the bagel guy, my standards were so high that his lack of accoutrements and simple pointing gave him the lowest score.
I'm amazed that someone hasn't had a wreck, blamed one of these guys, sued the business and squashed the practice. Probably just a matter of time.
In decorating news... Sheri says she's taking the closet fixin's by to dump them at my house today. She's hoping that Dave, the installing guy, will really be there tomorrow like he said he would be. She kind of thinks he was a little waffly in his commitment. Fingers are crossed all around.
And I heard back from yesterday's dentist. It was a very dull email basically saying phobic dental patients were a dime a dozen and I had nothing to worry about (right) but they didn't have any new patient appointments after 3 until the end of May. She wants my phone number so she can call and schedule another time. I wrote back assuring her that I would not be available before 3 and she could give me an appointment at the end of May. If one of my Plan B's does not work out, then I'll call her and see what we can do. Maybe.
Now... it's back to work for me!
