Trolling for old people

susandennisPeriodically - usually when I'm waiting on bytes to finish crunching - I go trolling for new people on LJ. I nearly always go to Advanced Search and use only the parameters of ages of 40-85 and posted in the past week. Then I look by userpix. I go for photographs first - photographs that appear to be of the journaler. Then I start clicking.
I generally steer clear of people who need me to 'apply' to be a friend. And I try to steer clear of anyone with whom I have more than one mutual friend. I like to mix it up a bit.
I had a little bit of time today and found two very promising new 'friends' - I use the term loosely because my 'friending' them really only means that I have added them to one of my filters to so I can easily keep up with their journal for a while. Friends seems like such a two way street and neither one of these folks may be the least bit interested in my drivel which is perfectly ok.
Then my bytes finished plus it was lunch time. That that's the news for the hour from The Land of Susan.
