I found a good clock plus Target has so many choices that I stood there thinking... hmmmm, this one doesn't work out, I'll just bring it right back and try another one. $14.

Home Depot. My usual Home Depot is just down the street. The woman there who said she would call when she got access to the carpet I wanted on Monday or Tuesday never called. The carpet is stock but it was all in the back somewhere. So I went to another Home Depot - this is a huge new one that is in a spot that used to be a KMart. It was really a beautiful store and I found a wonderful friend, Judy, who helped me figure out what to get, how much and how to get it so that I could fit it into the car. She should me how easy it was to cut and was just generally so nice, that on my way out of the store, I went to find the manager to tell her what a huge help that Judy was.

Then on to a nursery. I had the two window box planters that have been empty since forever in the car. I walked in with my planters and told them I needed severe help. I need nice looking plants that could survive my abuse and look nice on the terrace that faces east - oh and if I left the planters there, would they even please do the planting and I'll come back next Saturday to get them? The women were great - thought it was a tremendous fun challenge but didn't want to wait. "Can you go kill an hour somewhere and come back?"

Oh yeah. On to MacDonalds where I got copy and a sausage biscuit. On the way I passed a yarn shop that I hadn't been in in a decade. It's a nothing burger store but I figured it would be interesting to wander around it. Well, turns out about 6 years ago, the owner sold it to someone who has created a yarn forest! They have everything and they were really nice and fun. I ended up buying some needles that have just come on the market - testing them out. And a baseball ticket to a Mariner game in July that is going to feature knitters! $10. What the heck?!

A stop at the grocery store and then home.

I ripped up the old crappy carpet off the terrace. Laid down the new stuff. Put out the planters. And it looks wonderful. Just wonderful. Now I need to make that telescope cover so I can get that out there.

And I still need to hem the curtains for the bedroom. But, first I'm starving and I need to rest.
