Poor sales reps

susandennisThis is the time of year when every sales rep in the world is killing themselves to make quota. I know because they are trying to take me and Kenny down with them. Actually Kenny is getting the worst of it. Every vendor he's even ever thought about doing business with is calling. I've worked on quota. I know the drill.
But, what I'm not quite getting is where the disconnect is between year end business and my Christmas cookies!! It's pretty simple, people. Send cookies.
Yesterday, Kenny, who is achingly polite to even the most certified of idiots, was talking to this one vendor and asking him for a catalog. The guy wanted to sell a product, not send a catalog. Kenny wanted a catalog. I was hissing over the cube wall 'Cookies! Tell him you will buy as soon as we get his Chistmas cookies!'
All this is kind of lost on Kenny. While he's been in the United States now for almost a decade, he's spent every Christmas until this year with his family in Hong Kong. He has no clue about Christmas cookies. He asked me yesterday where you buy them. I told him that you could only get them by getting a mother to make them. I give him tough love.
He does not yet believe me when I tell him that we do not get Boxing Day off nor Christmas Eve. He thinks I'm shoveling him yet more shit.
But, seriously folks, the goodies should be starting to roll in. I've cleared a place on the front counter. Hello????
