My Mom loves to print stuff out. She'll print out a story from the NYTimes rather than read it on the screen. And pictures. She loves to print pictures out. She'll look at them for a couple of days and then toss them out but she loves to print them. But, she and her printer don't always see eye to eye on things. If there is a failure (like out of paper...) She just punches buttons on the printer and on the computer trying to trick it into printing again. She knows to reboot but she forgets (and, of course, rebooting rarely fixes the out of paper problem).
This morning she said she talked to my brother and told him that her printer was broken again. "I asked him how he fixed it last time and he said he took a hammer to it." This is the same brother who is leaving today to move to Texas to open a business doing computer support. I hope he comes up with some better answers during his drive...
I told her to call me this weekend when she was ready to mess with it and we'd fix it together - no hammer needed.
She says that it has to be taken somewhere and spray painted. My friend, Alan, says that it definitely needs to be painted black (or very dark) and that it need to be brush painted but pretty much disassembled first. Assuming Sheri's plan cannot be accomplished, I suspect that I might just take some good pix and go to a paint store and buy paint and whatever else I need to do it myself. If it doesn't work, then it doesn't work. But, ignoring it isn't working that well either.
I'm thinking book board because 1. I can cut it and paste it into the perfect size and 2. It will be light weight enough to hang very easily and 3. I'm pretty sure I can paint it using the left over wall paint.
And there is a kind of an oversized telephone jack plate thing that I need to unscrew and see what's behind it. I'm guess there is a hole in the wall that I need to figure out how to cover and then paint over that.
All doable.
