I really got nothin'. And I'm not kidding this time.

Mom is the same. She is learning, however. Between nearby construction and frequent thunderstorms, her cable goes out a lot. Last time she cleaned out her TiVo totally. "We're supposed to get thunderstorms tonight and I'm sure the cable will go out again so I've got TiVo working at top speed." She gets such a kick out of watching TiVo when the cable is out and everyone else is dead in the water, TV wise.

The football game was quite loud last night. It was kind of fun background noise. Sorry about the score. This is when we say 'oh, it was just an exhibition game.'

Roomba brought me another dime last night. It picked up one last week, too. I think it's paying itself off. And I think I must have a hole in some pocket somewhere.

It is cooler. And I think it's headed that way for good. Even the TV weather people are backing down from their love of the hotter the better. They are now referring to temperatures are 'relief'. Why do I insist on watching these people?

The shelf guy left me a note last week that he would be working on the shelves for three days this week and after that he should be close to finishing. I'm trying to stay Zen about this but it's not easy. If he or Sheri tell me one more time that they 'can't wait until the shelves are done!', I'm not responsible for any bodily injury. On the up side, Sheri is out of town until Thursday or Friday so she could be safe.

Sunday I sent email to the place where I bought the printer - www.techforless.com. Yesterday I got a reply from a guy who said I would hear from someone within 24 hours. Last night I got a note from another guy asking me for some details on the problem and telling me that he was testing out a replacement unit for me. Both notes sounded suspiciously like they were from actual real people. I did a quick check on some of the review sites and discovered that this outfit has some mighty satisfied customers.

I'm reading Blink which talks about a study done on surgeons and being sued. The study found that the number of law suits filed against surgeons had little to do with their skill or any errors. The group that got sued less often had as many errors. It was all about how the surgeons treated the patients and their families. Those who appeared to care did not get sued.

I think that may be what techforless is up to and it's working with me. I'm not unhappy with my purchase or the fact that I do not have a working printer or the fact that I don't even have a resolution from them about what's going to make me whole on the problem and it's been nearly a day and a half that they have known about the problem. Interesting.
