Is this the day???!!
Sep. 9th, 2005 08:46 amSheri says that she will be meeting John-the-shelf-guy at my condo this morning. He'll do some finishing bits and then she'll put everything onto the shelves and arrange it all and then leave all the keys on the credenza and I'll be done.
Will it happen? Experience tells me that the cork needs to say in the champagne until I see those keys on the credenza. And so it will.
But, maybe...
- Just before I hung up with the lower level support, he said that I should be contacted within 24-48 hours.
- I received a call 24 hours later which I missed.
- The mesage left a phone number that I called back.
- Got voicemail and left a message that I was available.
- Heard nothing.
- An hour later I got an email asking for times when I was available between 4:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
- I replied that I was available then (it was 9 a.m. Sunday), 7-1:30 on Monday and 7-1:30 on both Saturday and Sunday.
- Heard nothing.
- Monday, heard nothing.
- Tuesday, heard nothing.
- Wednesday, sent another email asking if, indeed, I was expected to hold open 5 hours each day in hope...
- Heard nothing.
- Thursday, sent email to the manager (referenced by him in the first email) asking for some clarification.
- Heard nothing.
- Finally, this morning, I get an email from Raja saying 7-9 on Saturday.
- Two hours later I get an email from a manager saying 7-9 on Saturday.
Here's hoping they are better at fixing the problem than arranging for a time to try.
I'm thinking about cutting out a day of work. Working 4 days - 32 hours - a week. I'm pretty sure I could do it if I wanted to - the workload would allow it and the management would be ok with it. I wouldn't do it until I got this redecoration loan paid off but it might be a nice incentive to save faster for that goal.
Or I could just take a day off here or there. I never do it but I could. The other contractors on the team regularly take whole weeks off.
I need to think about it some more.
