Carnivore's Delight
Dec. 15th, 2003 08:54 pmI've lived in Seattle now nearly a dozen years and I stay tuned to the Good Restaurant buzz - or so I thought. About 3 months ago, I first heard of Jak's. It was described as an excellent steak joint in West Seattle. Since then, every restaurant list I see - including a couple of national ones that only include a few restaurants in Seattle - mention this place! It's been around since forever. There are now 3 of them. And I had to go.
So the office manager from work and her two grown daughters and I set out for Jak's tonight. It was quite the yum, lemme tell you. It's a no reservations place so we went early which suited me fine. I had a pork chopped stuffed with a dressing that included Gorgonzola cheese and pine nuts. And some potato pancakes that were delicious. Even the salad was excellent - very crisp new iceberg lettuce with a sprinkling of some mighty excellent blue cheese.
Just good. And if that wasn't treat enough, we then walked over to one of the daughters' apartment where she had... tada... Christmas cookies!!!!
I'm a way happy camper.
