Money Matters
Dec. 16th, 2003 06:08 pmMy stocks are not doing well these days... This is the $2,000 I opened my Ameritrade account with about three years ago now... I traded this and that for a while and finally ended up with 60 shares of Krispy Kreme (after 2 splits), 9 shares of Federated Stores and 34 shares of Tivo.
They go up and they go down. Every day Ameritrade sends me an email with the results of their roller coaster ride today. They were over $3,000 for a long long time... over $3,500 for a while and then the slide... And now they are worth $2,813.45... I need them back up over $3,000 if only for my peace of mind.
And for the body cream that now I am going to have to buy. My friend Lee called tonight to see if she could hide her partner, Sherry's, Christmas present up here. She got Sherry some Origins Ginger Souffle Whipped Body Creme.
Now, first of all, I'm not a body creme girl to start with. When I think of it, I try to use hand cream to keep my skin from cracking off but I grab whatever buck-and-a-quarter crap I have around here. I've never even considered expensive creme.
But, Lee got a sample of this stuff she got for Sherry and I tried it and wow... how luxurious!! First of all it's not at all gooey - I mean it's just smooth and satiny and makes my hands feel amazing. Now I'm probably going to have to buy some. And it's $50 fucking dollars!!!
She also got Sherry a new VCR. Fortunately, I'm good there.

Joyeux Noel
Date: 2003-12-16 10:39 pm (UTC)My first and only experience with purchasing stock. So, I live and learn. :(
In keeping with the French theme of the last few days,"c'est la vie!"
And I cannot remember any Christmas song en francais. The only song that I do remember from my 3 crummy years of French (it was either that or Latin) is: Napoleon avec.......soldat..something about Napoleon and his soldiers.
Have to admit thought, Joyeux Noel on "paper" looks rather pretty up against Merry Christmas. ;)
