My version of 20 things
Sep. 29th, 2005 09:12 amI don't do memes. But, I've really enjoyed reading everyone's 20 things. I could only come up with 15.
1. From the age of 12 until the age of 18, I read Désirée (by Annemarie Selinko) every winter and Gone with the Wind every summer.
2. I've always wanted to be able to play a musical instrument.
3. I am impressed beyond reason by anyone who speaks more than one language.
4. My high school required two years of Latin. It took me 3 years to meet that requirement.
5. I never once - not ever - had the slightest interest in having children.
6. I used to love playing Yahtzee. We had family tournaments and I was usually the winner.
7. I know the words to most popular music produced from 1955-1964.
8. I am very nearly tone deaf.
9. I love remote controls. The first one I had (for my betamax) was not wireless.
10. I knew 3 hours after the ceremony that my marriage was a mistake. It took me 3 years to admit it.
11. I got my first cellphone in 1989. It was the size of a shoe and weighed (it seemed) about 5 pounds.
12. I love anything fried. I'm partial to food but if you bread it and fry it, I'll likely eat it and enjoy it whatever it is.
13. At our dinner table growing up, using the word fuck got you in trouble. Using the word union (of the organized work variety) got you sent to your room.
14. I remember details of the day they brought my brother home from the hospital 2 days after he was born. I was 4. It's my earliest memory.
15. I have a serious office supply addiction.
