I tuned into the Angels/White Sox game in the middle of the 1st inning. They had a guy doing color commentary who sounded so familiar. And he was good. Totally better than the usual bozos. Finally, I realized he sounded like Lou Pinella but smarter and sharper and wittier. It was driving me nuts. Who the hell was it? He really knew his stuff. Finally, about the 4th inning I discovered it WAS Lou Pinella! He makes a darned good color guy. He must have taken an articulate pill. Maybe, since, he's toast with his latest gig, this is his new life.

If I were a cat, I would be so dead by now. Yesterday I got a note from my friend, John, that a woman we used to work with (he way more than me) at IBM had written to him asking for my email address which he had given her. He said she has not ever contacted him before (since he retired). She never liked me which was fine, we really didn't cross paths that much even back in the day. He can't figure out why in the world she would want to contact me and I can't either. I don't know if she is still with IBM or not. I think she'd kind of worked herself up the ladder.

Anyway, no word yet. I keep checking my spam bucket and my email and nothing. I am dying of curiosity.

LJ is still confused about emailing comments. Most go to Gmail where they should but two went to my regular email last night. [livejournal.com profile] kjaz left two comments - one each on two different entries. One went to Gmail and not regular mail. The other went to regular mail and not Gmail. At least I'm no longer missing comments but I do with LJ would quit fucking with me.

Mom's 'home' yesterday sent me a letter about hurricane evacuation - 'in light of what we've learned after Katrina'. This time they wanted my signature on a note that basically said - 'should we not be able to provide evacuation for your resident, you understand that it is your responsibility to evacuate her and further, you will return her to the facility when appropriate.'

Yeah, right, I'm signing that. Nope. Sorry. My signing could mean a reduction in your insurance rates but if that's what we're talking here, then let's be up front about it. Otherwise, you caught me in the week when I am now reading what I am being asked to sign and, where I think it makes sense, I am choose the NFW option. In this case, the whole thing just went into the trash.
