Oct. 13th, 2005 08:48 amFrom February through September, I am dedicated to baseball. Fortunately, for me, the Mariners rarely play past September and if so, bail in the first round of the few playoffs they've ever tried. So I'm done come October. Usually. I try my best not to get caught up in post season play. I have Fall TV shows to watch. I have Law and Order reruns stacking up everywhere. I have a life! I cannot be wasting it on stupid playoff baseball.
And yet, I am. I didn't want to care about the pre-playoff playoffs and they suckered me in. Now the American League playoff drama and color guy have me by the balls. Ok, I have no balls, but if I did...!!
My Mom loves Smiley Central. Early on, I grabbed her some smiley faces and other little eye candy for decorating her email and she took to it like mice to cheese. I looked at Smiley Central for a long time debating. Yeah, they monitor and yeah they give you shit you don't need but they really never have caused problems and lately they even removed a lot of requirements and added some features. But, frankly, if it was full of ad and spyware both, I'd have to let her keep it. She loves it.
I have gotten notes before that ended 'you would have gotten this note sooner but Smiley Central just added a bunch of new smilies and I couldn't decide on the perfect one.' It just makes her happy.
This morning she was talking about all the moving and stuff that's going on at her place with the new section opening up. She doesn't move into her new place until next week but she's watching the progress and bitching about the hallways being blocked. I send her a note and told her that it would soon be all settled and she could, once again, dance in the hallways.
In return I got this ballerina. No words, just the ballerina. I'm going to be smiling about that all day.
mock2 has added even more treats to his LJ Toy Box. I love seeing who's reading and from where. I get a fair amount of non-LJ friend traffic which kind of surprises me. I don't get that many non-LJ comments. But, hi! and welcome to everyone. The more the merrier.
I would really like to know what in the world made me think the shirt that I'm wearing this morning was worth keeping. I have way too many clothes as it is. I know where to buy more if I need them. What I need is some discipline. This weekend, I am going through the closet one more time and the Goodwill is going to get happy. New rules. If I have not worn it in the past month, it gets tossed into the Goodwill bag. Summer clothes - if I did not wear them in the final month before it got cool, it goes into the Goodwill bag. This is ridiculous. I can do it while the playoff games are in the background. Since my NPR station is doing their begging this weekend, I won't have them to listen to anyway.
Donuts.
