Ouch!

Last week, I bit down on something with my back teeth and it hurt big time. I poked around with my tongue and couldn't find an issue and monitored it carefully and the hurt didn't come back. Until this morning. Bit down on some bacon and OUCH! One of those giant this-is-not-a-simple-problem hurts. Fortunately, when I stopped biting there, it stopped hurting.

I'm pretty sure the insurance (including dental) from my new job does not kick in until December. So I need it to hold off until at least then. Forever would work better but at least until it's covered. Please.

Mom is quite happy now that she has her computer again. Knowing she can reach out to any of us at any time is great for her. But, she also does an amazing amount of research. She's very good at finding stuff. I've watched her try and I have no idea how she actually manages it. She can't quite understand Google results and half the time she uses the search engine that Smiley Central requires her toolbar to carry. But, she finds what she wants - last week it was the snail address of her old tennis partner in Winston-Salem... And she, so far, has been relatively malware free. I'm sure Smiley Central and their search engine are keeping close tabs on her but I think it's a small price to pay for the joy they give her back.

And you gotta love that they are tracking the 82 year old widow demographic.

I love www.shoedini.com - they are the sister dealer to my crack cocaine, www.ebags.com. Both of these outfits have snappy websites that are very easy to navigate. They have HUGE inventories. And they do what they should do when they should do it - tracking, reporting, customer service handling. I ordered a pair of walking shoes from shoedini - they were on sale. They are too big and have no arch so I decided to send them back. I hit 'return' on their website and within minutes was printing out a pre-paid UPS label. Even Zappos isn't that easy.

Of course, I still need walking shoes. I drove in to work today in hopes of finding some on the way home this afternoon.
