I'm such a Rote-r.  If you do things by rote then you don't have to waste valuable time thinking about it.  If every morning you get up, get showered, get dressed, go to the bus, walk to your desk, log onto your computer, check email and LJ..  You get the drift.  For the past 18 months, I haven't really had to have a thought that made a difference much before oh 9ish.

Now, every day is different and requires thought.  And planning and organization.  My rote isn't ready yet.

This morning, I did check LJ but then decided I wanted to get all the way to the end of this doc before I did anything else.  And, 3 hours later, here I am.  Whew.

A few observations...

  • Working on the laptop is great.  Really great.  My Lifebook has a touch screen and I need to make my hands realize that this laptop does not.
  • I've been spending a lot of time on the chaise with my feet up and my ankles which have been swollen for several years are not swollen any more!  In the Summer they are about three times their normal size but even in winter they have not been down to normal in a long time.  They are now the ankles of a supermodel.
  • I did not realize how much I can get done in the quiet. It's amazing.

The window boxes I replanted last weekend are doing surprisingly well.  I did not do a very quality job.  Just basically ripped out the dead stuff and stuff I didn't want and crammed the new stuff in and watered.  I belong to the survival of the fittest school of gardening.

Now I need to get back to work and start on round two of this doc.
