We have winter
Nov. 4th, 2005 07:58 amI'm thinking maybe the tide has turned. It looks like we are really going to get a winter this year. Last year the ski fields near here never even got to open. This year most of them are opening this weekend. No, I have not skied in about a bazillion years. I'm only using the ski fields thing as a winter barometer.
It's not really cold yet but we've had lots of days of weather hovering about 50 with wind and rain and the forecast looks like more of the same. I know many people hate this stuff but not me. I love it. I love picking which sweater to wear. I love wearing my new rain boots. (Target web $19.99) I love picking out a hat. I love not being hot.
I hate to be greedy and I don't mean to say that this isn't enough but if some snow could happen to fall in my neighborhood this winter, I'd be so doing the Dance of Joy.
The condo assistant manager was here yesterday with the painter in tow. They said that to fix the four tiny holes in my ceiling, they will need to repaint the ceiling of my whole condo. WTF?! We chatted. They explained and I said no. They explained some more and I said no. We did this for a while and finally, I won. It doesn't need repainting. I could fix the four holes with toothpaste and no one would ever know. I am not putting up with painters painting my entire ceiling less than 6 months after it was just painted. Geesh. They will paint the walls where the holes are. That's going to be annoying enough.
I'm waiting for the expert to send his comments. They were due by midnight last night. His expertise does not extend, apparently, to calendar integrity.
I've got another project I can get started on so I think I will.
