Where did the morning go??

susandennisI got an email this morning from Tina to a bunch of us that we needed to update the software that connects me to the Microsoft network. So, being the good little doobey that I am, I followed it step by step, using the defaults and doing everything as told. The instructions warned to copy some info as the machine would be rebooted. I did.
It rebooted. BUT when it came back up, had a little UglyGram from Windows about not being able to validate the license... And then it gave me only one option - to Shut Down The Machine. WTF??!!! I was able to replicate that little scenario at will but could get no closer to a working computer. My career flashed before my eyes.
Finally, after breathing into my virtual paper bag for a bit, I remembered Safe Mode and RollBack. WHEW... I sent a note back to Tina describing my adventures and asking that maybe someone who knows what they are doing give it a shot and provide some guidance.
Didn't we just discuss backing up content right here in this space yesterday??? Nothing like a little reminder.
So now there is a copy of my .pst is now on my external harddrive - along with a copy all the docs that are currently critical to me right now. I feel better.
I got a new influx of Teddy Bear yarn today... I love it when Herrschners has their free shipping deals. One of the funnest things about these teddy bears is that I get to use the greatest colors and the softest yarn.
