Whew....

With two days ahead during which no one should be calling or emailing me with their problems, and solid time to catch up, I'm declaring the work day here at Chez SusanDennis to be over. Dinner is in the toaster ovens - one broiling a little steak and the other heating up one of my twice baked potatoes from the freezer. Yum.

And now to catch up.

Mom is making progress - a little every day. She went to the doctor today and got her nails done (one hand's worth) and got her hair washed and had physical therapy. I talked to her but only to say that if she didn't need me for anything, we'd catch up this weekend.

Redecorating Part II the Deux is progressing - slowly, of course, but I'm nearly used to that.

My chaise is getting a boner next week. Ok, well, it's just going in for refoaming to make it harder. Kind of the same thing, isn't it? It has a nice look and it has all the right stuff but just not enough of it. It's like sitting on a pile of down comforters. Ok, for some, I guess but not for me. I want more support. Lots more support. I want to be able to sit there for long periods without feeling like a fist and I want to be able to get out of it.

So, Sheri is picking up the cushions on Monday morning and taking them to a stuffing specialist. She'll bring them back on Wednesday evening. I'm hoping to be bouncing quarter off the thing this time next week!

And... My chair is going to get a new floor!

http://www.snapmat.com/ The Sierra Grey one... I looked into nice plastic chair floors but I couldn't find one that I was sure would look nice after a week of rolling on it. So I found this. Sheri made me get a sample and I haven't seen it yet but she says it's very nice looking and will look great on my carpet.

This new job is really a challenge but I'm actually enjoying it. It is so much easier to only have to be nice on the phone. I can roll my eyes and do whatever as long as my voice remains calm and customer ready. I do want to scream 'A little planning could have kept this from being a fucking emergency and besides you are now third in my freakin queue!!!' Instead, I say very pleasantly 'No problem. I can get it done for you. I'm on it right now. Not to worry.' And then hang up and shriek and get to work.

And the money is so good. When you get paid by the hour and work 12 hours a day, it tends to mount up nicely. Plus, I when he hired me, my boss said that he would raise my hourly rate after he had a chance to see me in action for a few months. First of March, he and I are going to have a little chat.

Dinner time!
