Heck of a deal
Feb. 13th, 2006 06:23 pmOk, I am just wearing the saddle out on my one trick pony here.
I thought I had a handle on stuff. I got up at 5 and worked from 5:30 - 9 and then took a break and wrote this:

I love Sharper Image. In my book they make Nordstrom's customer service look like Walmart's. I called today about my dead Roomba. The nice lady took down all the info, including my email address. She sent me a prepaid UPS label while we were chatting. Instead of waiting until they got my dead one back for a replacement, I asked if I could get her to send me a new one, charge my credit card and then just give me a credit when the dead one got there.
She not only did that, she offered me the 3 year replacement warranty which I should have bought in the first place and have always been sorry I did not. So. Essentially for $50.00, I am getting a brand new Roomba and three years of guaranteed vacuuming. I'm delighted. Plus she was just very efficient and nice to deal with.
I think I'm whipping work into shape. I'm getting a handle on how to better manage stuff. Plus, they may be hiring a guy I used to work with - and like a whole lot - to help out. This could be good.
Mom's bank accounts are not in shape. I noticed this weekend that her Money Manager account was charging her $20 a month and she's accumulating interest at about $7.00 a month. I'm thinking this is not ideal. Turns out, there's a $10,000 min balance required or you get that $20 charge. What.Ever.
Now I need to spend some quality time with her money to make sure we aren't just throwing money in the gutter.

It is now 6:20. There have been several times today when I would have slit my wrists if I had had time. But, I didn't.
I still do think I'm getting better over all. I do plan to take the rest of the night off. I really do. But, geesh.

I got a note from Mom saying that she was really ready to lose her sitters. "I've been trying to learn how to put my pants on with one arm. I've nearly got it. They are getting nervous." And she typed that with one hand!

And, finally.... Has Jon Stewart EVER had more pressure than he's got right now getting ready for tonight's show?? I may have to watch it live for the first time ever.
