The Mom Report plus one
Feb. 22nd, 2006 06:37 pmPolly called in the Mom report tonight. Mom went to the doctor today and he was just delighted with her progress. She was cleared to start physical therapy for her shoulder again and she was cleared to get her nails done on Friday and her hair done tomorrow!
The doctor told Polly that the shaking is caused by the stuff she's taking to breathe. Shaking or breathing. That's kind of a difficult choice. But he says that if she breathes good, he'll ease up on the stuff.
Polly also said that Mom had mentioned again concern that my sister had said she was coming with one of her children in March. No way is she up for company and especially not a teenager. Mom hates to have them see her shakey and not at her best. So I told Polly I'd see what I could do. So I carefully crafted a note to my sister explaining that Mom understood her wanting to have her children see as much of Mom as possible but now was just not good. March will not be a good month and maybe sometime in the Summer would be better. And... if she decided not to go in March, Mom would probably be relieved to hear it from her.
I got the snottiest most defensive rambling note about how she never ever ever said one word to Mom about visiting and she was way too busy anyway and besides she couldn't leave her job and probably it wouldn't be funded again anyway because George Bush's government was taking away everything.
Leave it to my sister to put me in a position of defending George Bush's government.
But, at least Mom doesn't have to worry.
The TV news has all the news about Vancouver getting the Olympics in 2010. I'm thinking that's nice. But for some reason it did not register until they said 'in four year'... For some reason 2010 seems like forever away. Four years, not so much.
I got a letter today from my college inviting me to my 35th reunion. They included a list of graduates that are 'lost'. For some reason I was a little miffed that I wasn't on the list and impressed with those that were.
