I sold off all my Amazon shares and bought iRobot. My finance guy has been telling to dump Amazon for a while. And iRobot needs me. Some of their shareholders, apparently, got annoyed when they announced they were going to spend some resources on research. Of course, the size of my holdings will not cause Amazon any pain and I doubt if even the robots will notice their new friend, but it's the thought, right? 15 shares of Amazon... for 20 shares of iRobot. I'm such a player.

I did not hear from Mom all day yesterday. VPN into her computer shows she didn't even read the email from yesterday. Finally this morning I called. Her sitter said she was talking to the nutritionist and was fine. I said great, tell her to check in or else. The I got an email saying that yesterday was just too busy. She had a pedicure, the head nurse stopped by for a long chat, the social worker person stopped by to see how things were going, she had to have lunch and then dinner and then this morning there was the nutritionist... 'life is not easy when you are 83, you know.'

But the real message there is that all that time and whining and all those emails to Sara, the second in command of the whole place - paid off. Mom is getting the attention she deserves and should get. And she's wallowing in it. I sent Sara a thank you note.

I have lost another freakin' library book! Crap on a stick. When I finish reading a book, I take it to the car where it lives until I get near a branch. Yesterday, I got near a branch and dumped the 4 books in the front seat into the bin. Well, there should have been 5 according to the notice I got from the library. Hopefully, that 5th bugger is hiding on the car floor or in the trunk. I need to go down to the garage and look.

Edit: Late breaking news... the book was in the car between the door and the seat on the shotgun side. Whew.

And I need to look up about dishwashers. The user manual for the new one I am getting says not to use those handy dandy little packets or plugs that I have grown so very fond of. It says to only use loose powder which is a pain in the ass. Now, I do so realize that bitching about the kind of soap an appliance like the miraculous and wonderful dishwasher uses, is a bit over the top but seriously... Those little packet things are great. I tried the tablets but I didn't like having to free them from their little paper wrappers (especially with wet hands) so I've been using the little pillows of liquid soap that you just drop into the holder.

Now I have to go back to the old fashioned powder? I need to investigate and see what that deal is. My old dishwasher so needs to go to dishwasher heaven. It is filthy and disgusting. And you know that little pool of water than always stays on the floor of the bed under the racks? It's now nearly brackish. I'm probably going to die of vile dishwasher poisoning before the new one gets here. 3 weeks. I need to hold on for 3 weeks. (And know, washing dishes by hand is so not an option.)

My every Wednesday conference call with Challenging Guy and his Team of Clueless was canceled for today. And miracles of miracles it was canceled nearly 16 hours ahead of time instead of 16 minutes into the meeting like usual. Nice.

Ok, that's all the bits I have for now. But, there could be more later... Oh and so far on weather watch... It's 44 degrees on my terrace right now which could account for why the snow's not too deep yet...
