Yes, I'm buying an oven
Mar. 9th, 2006 03:01 pmOne of the things I love about Sheri is that she never ever tells me that I can't do something. And she rarely, if ever, tells me that what I want is a bad idea. I haven't used the oven of my stove in years and years so why have it?
She designed, with great care and attention to all the detail, a cabinet to go where the stove is now and host the cooktop. She found me a cooktop. And never told me - as many of my friends did - that the idea was not bright.
But, I knew it was out of the ordinary. What I didn't know was how extremely expensive it would be. For the cost of the cooktop, I can get a stove and save the cost of custom cabinetry. And even though the cooktop has already been ordered and we're about half pregnant there, she did not bat an eyelash and easily officered me the option of changing my mind.
So I'm buying a new stove instead. It's ok. I've come to terms with it. It was my decision and it also means that installation will be easy and free. She's off to find me one that is available. It will be fine. No one says I have to use it.
And I have the hardware to turn the coffee table into a pop top sitting right here. John the installer comes tomorrow morning first thing to install it. Excellent.
Plus, Keiran called about 10:30 and asked if he could have an hour's worth of advice over coffee and he sounded like he really wanted to do it today so I suggested lunch. He came by and we went up to the Vietnamese place - The Tamirand Tree - that Lee and I went to a few weeks ago. It was WONDERFUL! Yumilicious. And he was happy with his advice. All is good.
I need to give work at least another hour. So I will.
