What a lovely way to start the week
Mar. 13th, 2006 11:10 amSo... my new friend, Elizabeth, suggested we meet for coffee this morning. She even offered up 7 a.m. which suits me perfectly. And it worked out even better than I thought.
She suggested a donut shop near her house in a section of town off downtown (Capital Hill for those who know) and threw in that the #14 bus stops across the street. So...
This morning I hopped out of bed and into the shower and into my sweats and grabbed the paper and headed to the bus stop just like people who work in offices! The #14 rolled up and I had a lovely ride through town to her neighborhood which is just full of interesting places to see and, indeed, had the bus gotten any closer, it would have been kissing the espresso machine.
It was not Krispy Kreme and, honestly, the donuts weren't that good, but the place is really very nice and quaint and comfortable with just the nicest people working there. Elizabeth and I had a great visit. Then I got back on the #14 - and met a young couple visiting Seattle for a long weekend from North Dakota. She had walked him all over creation Saturday and Sunday so today they had decided they were going to see the city by bus! They were fun. I was home and at my desk by 9:30.
A perfect start to the day and the week. And, ditto for Elizabeth. She works at home editing text books. She said as we were leaving that she was off to contact her various clients and drum up some work cause they just found out their tax bill is going to be higher than they thought. I got an email when I got home that she had a voice message from her favorite client with a job to do!
So to keep the karma going we are lather, rinse and repeat next Monday!
